Carolina Fuentes LCSW, MDiv.
Therapist, Trainer, and Founder.
Let me give you a glimpse of who I am, what I do and why. I am a therapist, a trainer, and the founder of this practice. I believe that learning and healing are best approached in a holistic way that recognizes the connection between our physical and mental health, our past and present, our culture, and our worldview/spirituality. I am learning to cultivate my courage and creativity, and I invite you to join me as I support you in leaning into your courage and creativity in order to increase deeper connection with others and/or yourself and in doing so create a meaningful story together. I am passionate about supporting people in becoming happier, healthier, and feeling more equipped to face life’s challenges. The work that I do is deeply personal. It is a response to my life’s calling and my sense of social responsibility. I believe that by doing this work I am adding hopeful and meaningful chapters not only to my life but to the legacy of my family and my ancestors.
When we meet for individual therapy I will focus on you and will meet you where you are in your journey. Together, we will create goals and a work plan that will serve as a map; however, there will be plenty of flexibility to reevaluate where we are going, what is helping (and what is not) and how we measure progress. I will listen attentively, share insights and education, introduce you to clinical interventions that match your needs and support you through your process of healing and growth. I will honor your ability to choose for yourself, be the expert of your own life experience and manage the pace and focus of the therapy process. There are many proven benefits to therapy; however, the therapy experience and the outcome will vary greatly depending on each person and situation. For more information on the therapy process see New to Therapy and Q&A.
I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Texas with 11 years of master level professional experience. This means that after graduating with a master degree in social work I completed 3,000 hours of supervised clinical work and passed two tests regulated by the Association of Social Work Boards. As a social worker my training provided not only clinical theory and practice, but also a strong foundation on social justice issues, resource linkage and the helping process which can be applied to a variety of situations and roles outside of therapy. I have worked with youth and families from diverse cultural backgrounds and nationalities in various settings. I have also supervised and mentored social work students.

Hello and welcome to CREATE Mental Health and Education Center! I’m so glad you are interested in seeking avenues to improve your mental health. Finding a therapist who is the right fit for you is essential for a meaningful therapy experience. To assist you in this process, I hope to offer you insight into who I am and my journey as a therapist with over 10 years of experience in the field.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with wonderful children, parents, and families in various roles and settings, including outpatient and inpatient settings, schools, non-profit organizations, and community centers. This diverse experience has shaped my approach and allowed me to specialize in helping individuals navigate challenges related to anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, parenting, trauma, and grief.
My professional training is enriched by the various roles I hold in life: mother, wife, immigrant, family member, friend, and perpetual student of life. These multifaceted experiences have taught me the value of resilience, empathy, and compassion. To make our work together effective, I draw upon a range of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, which helps us understand the link between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Mindfulness techniques will play a significant role in our sessions, helping you develop present moment awareness and manage your emotions. I also love incorporating therapeutic play and art to engage with my younger clients, providing them with a comfortable outlet for expression.
I have experience working with parents, families of mixed immigration status, and children across all ages. I’m fully bilingual in English and Spanish and I’m deeply committed to providing a supportive and inclusive space where you can thrive.
I’m looking forward to meeting you!
